My high school algebra teacher would be so surprised and proud, I may have seen the widest attribute for a Texas icon, big dogs fill a Zoom screen and we don't need no 100-stinking degrees.

Algebra in Use |
I used high school algebra today. It was one of those nasty word problems and according to our accountant I calculated the correct answer.
Why would my high school Algebra teacher be both surprised and proud? Because, I literally slept may way through most of Janie Johnson's classes and absolutely all the classes on 'word problems.' The class was 50-minutes. I'd put my face in my palms with the elbows on the desktop. Then when the bell rang, I'd wake up and head out. I wasn't fooling anyone. I had giant, red palm prints on both sides of my face.

It seems like we all have a lot of time these days. There's time to eat, clean, work-out, study, read, etc. I noticed this weekend that I had the time to notice. I've driven past this pasture at least 100-times in the last few months and never once have I noticed this big Texas Longhorn. Look at the rack! I don't know if his 'horn span' is a record setter, but I'm sure glad I had the time to notice.

Max on Zoom |
Speaking of big, that's my older sister Laura's Great Dane interrupting our Zoom birthday party for mom this weekend. His name is Max. I'm pretty sure he'd had enough of the birthday party because his humans were obviously in the wrong seat(s).

And finally, 100-degrees before Mother's Day can't be a good thing. We had two days above the century mark in the last week. I'm pretty sure our air conditioning never shut off, even overnight. Of course like the usual west Texas weather patterns, today is a very comfortable 75-degrees with clear blue skies and that is a good thing.
Diet Update: Holding steady at minus 31
Gracie Update: She's doing pretty great
Bill Robertson (5/5/20), By the way that math problem: If a project requires 12,500 bricks at $440 per 1,000 bricks.... What's the total price tag?
